DRESDEN -- Gladys May Simmons, 90, of Dresden, died June 6, 2003, at Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden with Dr. Don McCulley, Dr. Richard Oldham, and Bro. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery in Como.

Harrel Shopher, Junior Simmons, Gerald Parham, Alan Jackson, Robert Simmons, and Tom Winchester served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Simmons was born in Weakley County, the daughter of the late Finis and Grace Mayle Paschall. She was a homemaker and a member of Dresden First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry P. Simmons and Bob G. Simmons, both of Dresden; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Simmons.

Memorials may be sent to Thompson Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, Como, or First Baptist Church Building Fund in Dresden.
