This list is definately not complete, I still have more to add.

As I go through my files, I will be adding what I have found on the earlier Shophers:

 

There is a marriage record for a Robert Shopher to a Margaret Ward on November 5, 1592 at Enfield Parish in Middlesex England.

There is a Christening record for John Shopher on October 10, 1713 in Buckland, Berkshire, England. This record lists Thomas and Jane Shopher as the parents.

 

This is a list of Shophers that appear in the Passenger and Immigration Lists Index.  As you'll notice so far, the ones I have found are not spelled S-H-O-P-H-E-R.  There was another 2 pages in the book I wanted to copy and forgot so I will add additional names later on.  Most of the Earlier Shophers on censuses appear in Pennsylvania and Ohio, now we know why....that's where they landed.

The format is name; age if available; port of arrival; year arrived;

Shoffer, Jacob, n.a.; Philadelphia, Pa., 1844

Shoffire, Aaron, n.a.; Philadelphia, Pa., 1840

Shopffer, Abraham, n.a.; Philadelphia, Pa., 1750

 

Format is name, ethnicity, year of arrival, age, ship's name, port of departure

Shepher, Allen, Barbados, April 20, 1893, 17y3m, Harriet S. Jackson, Bridgetown St. Michael Barbados

Shepher, George, English, Residence: Colchester England
